Wedding nowadays doesn’t come cheap, especially for chinese. And unfortunately, I’m a Chinese. Some people who came from well-off family won’t have such problem as everything will be paid by the rich parents. For me, I have to pay most of the cost, and just abit of the cost to be shared by my wife. So far I’m in the prepartion for my coming wedding next month and at the moment, the estimated cost will be RM20,000 for just a very simple wedding.
Range of the cost for normal middle income ppl will included following:-
Wedding Ring – RM3,000 – 5,000 (Depending how materialistic your future wife to be are, cos the bigger the diamond, the bigger the $$$)
Bridal cost – RM3,000 – RM5,000 (included make-up on wedding day approximate RM700)
Wedding Dinner Liquor – RM2,000 – 5,000 (around RM30 per bottle of red wine)
Wedding Card & Gifts – RM1,000 – RM2,000 (RM2-8 per invitation card, + fixed cost RM100 per pages in English or RM165 in Mandarin as printing charges)
In-law Ang Pow – RM3,000 to RM5,000 (Middle Income Working People, ok !!!!)
New Furniture – RM2,000 – RM5,000 (From Cavenzi Home at Furnipoint.com to Ikea.com, at least Ikea offer instalment scheme 🙂 )
Wedding Dinner cost – RM0 – RM5,000 (of course you can made profit here or made big losses as well. I’m estimating loss cos mostly invitee are relatives! WTF!)
Wedding Day Photographer (Day & Night) – RM1,200 (included 200 free 4R photo ?)
Last time I have a colleague (which qualify for Middle Income Level as me) who pay off RM10,000 as ang pow to his in-law, and he said very standard! But then he told $$$ paid off by his dad, instead of him. Like that, RM50k or RM100k oso can la! Normal middle working class people like me where can afford so much!TLMKCH!
The hard earned RM20,000 goes off in a blink of eyes. My Heart is aching ……..
